Single Donor Human Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMC) FrozenIWB6K2E10CT
Single Donor Human Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMC) Frozen from Innovative Research are cells isolated from a unit of whole blood containing EDTA and is centrifuged using ficoll-hypaque. Once isolated the cells are kept in a storage media containing 10% DMSO and 90% FBS. For long-term storage keep in liquid nitrogen, for short-term storage -80C. Please note, -20C is not recommended.
Each unit is tested for the standard FDA-required viral markers, and found negative for HBsAg, HCV, HIV-1, HIV-2, HIV-1Ag or HIV-1 NAT, ALT, West Nile Virus NAT, Zika NAT and syphilis using FDA-approved methods. When applicable a licensed NAT for Babesia has been performed and found to be non-reactive, if you would like any further testing or analysis performed prior to shipping, please let us know. While we make every effort to ensure the safety of our products, we recommend following universal precautions as laid out the following organizations WHO, CDC and OSHA, handle biological materials as if capable of spreading infectious disease.
Innovative Research has a wide network of FDA-approved collection centers across the United States, which allows us to collect from nearly any donor type. We are able to accommodate demographic requests from a variety of genders, races, and ages. We are also able to work with custom collection requests and protocols. If you have custom demographic or collection requests, please let us know.
- PBMCs are fragile
- If not proceeding directly to thawing and use of PBMCs, place on dry ice or in a liquid nitrogen container
- Keep frozen at -80C (short term) or in liquid nitrogen (long-term)
- Consider thawing only 1 vial at a time to minimize temperature excursions
- Allow to thaw until ready to use
- We recommend that PBMCs are not vortexed
- Avoid centrifuging the cells to remove the cryopreservative unless the cryopreservative specifically interferes with the procedure*
*You can always centrifuge and replace media after they have been acclimated post-thaw
