Single Donor Human Buffy Coats Leukocytes

Single Donor Human Buffy Coats / Leukocytes from Innovative Research are processed from a single donor whole blood collection (approximately 450ml starting volume) collected at FDA-licensed facilities located in the United States. The blood is collected into a sterile collection bag with the anticoagulant (alternative anticoagulants may be requested). This product is freshly collected on a per order basis only.

Buffy coat preparations are separated from the whole blood using low-speed centrifugation. The buffy coat layer is manually extracted (no chemical separators are used) and contains erythrocytes (RBCs / red blood cells) and other blood components. The resulting volume is approximately 40ml to 75ml. If desired, you may further purify this preparation of leukocytes by sedimentation using Percoll gradient centrifugation.

The recommended storage temperature for this material is 2-8°C

Viral Testing

Each unit is tested for the standard FDA-required viral markers, and found negative for HBsAg, HCV, HIV-1/HIV-2 Antigen Antibody Combo, and Anti‑T. Pallidum using FDA-approved methods. When applicable a licensed NAT for Babesia has been performed and found to be non-reactive, if you would like any further testing or analysis performed prior to shipping, please let us know. While we make every effort to ensure the safety of our products, we recommend following universal precautions as laid out the following organizations WHO, CDC and OSHA, handle biological materials as if capable of spreading infectious disease.

We are able to accommodate demographic requests from a variety of genders, races, and ages. We are also able to work with custom collection requests and protocols.
