Rat Thrombin Purified from Innovative Research has been purified from Rat plasma using affinity chromatography method. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 0.025M Tris-HCl; 0.6M NaCl; pH 7.5 with concentration of 1.0mg/ml, with a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis. This product is useful as a positive control for ELISA and western blot and for a variety of in vitro applications including clotting assays, fibrinolysis, hemostasis, protein-protein interactions, thromboelastography, thrombolysis, and more. Rat thrombin is prepared from purified prothrombin by activation with coastal taipan venom followed by affinity chromatography. Purity is verified by SDS-PAGE analysis and specific activity in NIH thrombin units is determined by chromogenic substrate.
