Select this product for Molecular Innovations name, Mouse Prothrombin and product number, MFII.
Mouse Factor II (Prothrombin) Purified from Innovative Research has been purified from US origin mouse plasma. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 100 mM Tris-HCl/0.15 M NaCl/pH 7.4, with a concentration of 0.1mg/ml and a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis (showing no reduction when incubated with 2-mercaptoethanol).
Prothrombin (Coagulation Factor II) is converted to active Thrombin (FIIa) during the coagulation cascade. This happens when Factor Xa and its cofactor, Factor V, together cleave Prothrombin in two, creating a fragment (fragment 1.2, which is formed from the N-terminal Gla domain and two Kringle domains of Prothrombin) and thrombin (containing only the serine protease domain).
