This product can be used in analytic tools such as ELISA, Western blot, Inhibition and Blocking. This antibody recognizes and binds only to prorenin and it does not bind or otherwise interact with active renin. It blocks proteolytic conversion of prorenin to renin by catalytic amounts of trypsin (unpublished data). The binding epitope is within amino acid residues 30-43 (MARLGPEWSQPMKR) of prorenin. It will strongly blot prorenin under non-reducing and reducing conditions and it has no cross reactivity with mouse or rat prorenin. This product is clone 4B5-E3, isotype IgG2b. Protect from light.
