MEMalpha Without Phenol Red is a Classic Basic Medium from Innovative Research. MEM Alpha, developed on the basis of MEM medium, features the addition of NEAA (non-essential amino acids), sodium pyruvate, zinc sulfate, vitamin B12, biotin and ascorbic acid. MEM Alpha medium is a suitable choice for suspension and adherent cell culture of various mammalian cells. MEM Alpha without deoxynucleoside or nucleoside is common used with DG44 and other DHFR- cells. While the medium contains various ingredients for cell culture, it does not contain protein, lipids or growth factors, thus requiring the use of serum or serum-free additives during use.
