This Human MHC Class I Polypeptide-Related Sequence B ELISA Kit from Innovative Research is intended for quantitative detection of human MICB in cell culture supernates, cell lysates, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA). Strip well format. Reagents for up to 96 tests.

This human MICB ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for MICB has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(NSO, A23-G298) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for MICB is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the human MICB amount of sample captured in plate.

Additional Information: The capture antibody is a monoclonal antibody from mouse, the detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal antibody from goat. Expression system for standard: MHC class I polypeptide-related sequence B, also called MICB is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MICB gene. The MICB gene is mapped to 6p21.33. This gene encodes a heavily glycosylated protein which is a ligand for the NKG2D type II receptor. Binding of the ligand activates the cytolytic response of natural killer(NK) cells, CD8 alphabeta T cells, and gammadelta T cells which express the receptor. This protein is stress-induced and is similar to MHC class I molecules; however, it does not associate with beta-2-microglobulin or bind peptides. It seems to have no role in antigen presentation. This gene acts as a stress-induced self-antigen that is recognized by gamma delta T cells. It is the ligand for the KLRK1/NKG2D receptor and binds to KLRK1 leads to cell lysis.; Immunogen sequence: 399
