This Human Folate Receptor Beta (FOLR2) ELISA Kit from Innovative Research is intended for quantitative detection of human FOLR2 in cell culture supernates and serum. Strip well format. Reagents for up to 96 tests.

This human FOLR2 ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for FOLR2 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards (Expression system for standard: NSO, Immunogen sequence: T17-N230) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for FOLR2 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the human FOLR2 amount of sample captured in plate.

Additional Information: The capture antibody is a monoclonal antibody from mouse, the detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal antibody from goat. Expression system for standard: Folate receptor beta is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FOLR2 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the folate receptor (FOLR) family, and these genes exist in a cluster on chromosome 11. Members of this gene family have a high affinity for folic acid and for several reduced folic acid derivatives, and they mediate delivery of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate to the interior of cells. This protein has a 68% and 79% sequence homology with the FOLR1 and FOLR3 proteins, respectively. Although this protein was originally thought to be specific to placenta, it can also exist in other tissues, and it may play a role in the transport of methotrexate in synovial macrophages in rheumatoid arthritis patients. Multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein have been found for this gene.; Immunogen sequence: 369
