Human Factor V Purified from Innovative Research has been purified from human plasma using immunoaffinity chromatography. This is a frozen liquid buffered in 50% glycerol/water (v/v), with a purity of greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE analysis.

Factor V is a cofactor (and not enzymatically active). Factor V binds to activated platelets and is activated by thrombin. When activated, Factor Va contains two chains (heavy and light) and is a cofactor of prothrombinase complex. Factor Va is degraded by Activated Protein C.
