Bacteria-Derived V8 Protease (Endoprotease Glu-C) lyophilized from Innovative Research is prepared according to Drapeau, G., Boily, Y., and Houmard, J., J. Biol. Chem., 247, 6720 (1972). This is a lyophilized powder with a concentration of 500 Units/mg dry weight.
This product is useful cleaving peptide bonds on the COOH-terminal side of either aspartic or glutamic acids At temperatures greater than 40°C, autolysis occurs . The enzyme is fully active in USP 0.2% SDS.
