... Blank human plasma was obtained from Innovative Research Inc. (Novi, MI) ... Five different lots of blank mouse and human plasma were used to assess the matrix effects. Two sets of samples were prepared. Set A: phosphate-buffered saline spiked with ACV (10, 2000 nM), VACV (10, 2000 nM) and ISs (200 nM); Set B: extracted plasma mixed with ACV (10, 2000 nM), VACV (10, 2000 nM) and ISs (200 nM). The percentage of matrix effect was calculated as (b / a) * 100, where a and b are the peak areas of ACV, VACV, and IS in sets A and B, respectively.
