Upon incubation in mouse serum, ICG was quickly released from the NPs and detected in the supernatant as early as in 10 min, whereas DiR was stably retained in the NPs over 6 h (duration of the observation) (Figure S1). Free DiR dispersed in mouse serum showed no fluorescence (Figure S2) due to the formation of H-aggregates.... Balb/c mouse serum was purchased from Innovative research (Novi, MI, USA).
