“…Pregnancy-specific glycoproteins (PSGs), also known as Schwangerschafts Protein 1 (SP1) and pregnancy-specific beta 1 glycoproteins, are secreted placental proteins found in the maternal circulation [1–4]. PSGs belong to the carcinoembryonic antigen cell adhesion molecules (CEACAM) family but while CEACAMs are mostly membrane-associated proteins, PSGs are secreted [5].
