A Closer Look at Lysates

 

Cell lysates are solutions used by researchers that are derived from the contents of a cell that has been broken open. The other type of available lysate is a Nuclear Extract, which contain mostly nuclear proteins from inside the cell. Applications of Cell Lysates

There are a few reasons why researchers might consider using cell lysates in their research, including flexibility of use, low cost, and valuable insights provided by the sample’s components. Cell lysates are relatively cheap to produce or procure compared to purified proteins.
