IYSTHKLY250UNYeast-Derived Hexokinase Purified Lyophilized from Innovative Research is useful as an enzyme that forms hexose phosphate when it phosphorylates hexoses (six-carbon sugars). Generally, glucose is the relevant substrate of hexokinases, and glucose-6-phosphate is the key product. This is a dialyzed, lyophilized powder with a concentration of 150 Units/mg protein.
Contanminant activities include Phosphohexose isomerase (? 0.01%) , 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (? 0.005%), adenylate kinase (? 0.005%) and creatine phosphokinase (0.005%). One Unit reduces one micromole of NAD per minute at 30°C, pH 8.0.
