" ... Sprague-Dawley rats were used to create small, medium, and large burns and uninjured controls. Three different intravenous resuscitation protocols were applied within each group: Lactated Ringer's (LR) alone, LR plus fresh frozen plasma (FFP), or LR plus albumin... In the LR plus FFP group, animals were resuscitated identically to the LR-only group, except they were given a 0.45 mL intravenous injection of rat FFP (Innovative Research, Inc, Novi, MI) immediately after burn ("hour 0"), and at hours 2, 4, and 8.
